Visionary Care Studies Award

· Recognizes an outstanding graduate student paper.

· This award includes a $300 cash prize per paper.

· Original research and pedagogical papers are both considered.

· The article may be accepted for publication or published within the last three years (2022, 2023, 2024); a paper presented at a professional meeting; or a paper suitable for publication or presentation at a professional meeting.

· Eligibility is limited to students currently enrolled in a graduate program. Graduate students on the market are welcome to submit while enrolled.

· A paper may be co-authored by two or more students who would share the award. Papers co-authored with faculty are not eligible.

· Nominations may be submitted by the author or by others, and we encourage self-nominations.

· Submission language may be in English or Spanish.

· The committee will evaluate papers based on several criteria, including an evaluation of the significance of the research/pedagogical questions posed; the quality/rigor of the research; the contributions to carework understandings and innovation; the expansion of knowledge or representation for underrepresented groups; and the overall writing quality.

· The deadline for submissions is February 15, 2024.

· To nominate a paper, please send the following via email:

· A letter of nomination (not exceeding one page) that explains the paper’s significant contribution to carework.

· An electronic copy of the paper, which must not exceed 25 pages in length (double-spaced, not counting references).
